Teaching Policy Fellows Elected to Chicago Teachers Union
On Friday, May 17th Teaching Policy Fellows Susan Volbrecht (pictured above) and Shelli Shadday were elected to represent CTU as AFT/ IFT Convention Delegates. Susan currently teaches 2nd grade at Cook Elementary School and serves as a member of the Catalyst Editorial Board, while Shelli teaches writing to 6th, 7th and 8th graders at Jungman Elementary School and holds a position on the CTU’s Teacher Evaluation Committee. Additionally, as CPS Performance Task Fellows, Susan and Shelli collaborate with a team of educators in developing performance tasks, a student growth measure that factors into REACH Students, CPS’ new teacher evaluation system. Congratulations, Susan and Shelli!
