Lisa Watts

Lisa is an experienced teacher and administrator with deep knowledge of policy, research and practice. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Most recently, she has been working as a member of the Achievement School District’s academic support team.

Lisa holds a PhD in Urban Education: Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she completed a dissertation entitled, “Hooks’ Theory of Engaged Pedagogy: A critical analysis of a century of practices that make a difference, promote student learning and encourage teacher engagement.” Lisa has served as a consultant to the TN Department of Education in the office of Achievement Gap Elimination and as the Assistant Director for the New Teacher Center at the University of Memphis, where she also taught elementary education courses and supervised student teachers.

She is well-published with many local, state and national presentations. Lisa is active in her local community and serves as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for Circles of Success Learning Academy; an award winning charter school in Memphis.


Randi
Randi Scott-Howard

Prior to joining Teach Plus, Randi served as an Instructional Facilitator with Memphis City Schools. For the past six years, Randi has supported the work of classroom teachers to positively impact student achievement, and increase parent and community involvement in an urban school setting. Building teacher capacity through data analysis, collaboration, and curriculum development within her school and district ignited her passion for school improvement. These passions lead her to pursue certification with AdvanED SACS/CASI as a Quality Assurance Review Team Chair. Before becoming an Instructional Facilitator Randi taught English several years. She earned a B. A. in English from Tougaloo College and a M. A.in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Sarah Shepson

Prior to joining Teach Plus, Sarah taught 10th and 11th grade English at Hughes High School in Hughes, Arkansas and is an AP English Literature certified teacher. Additionally, Sarah served at the 2011 Mississippi Delta Summer Institute as a Corps Member Advisor for Teach for America. Since 2010, Sarah is proud to call Memphis home and is eager to work with fellow teachers in Memphis to achieve high academic outcomes with our students. Sarah is a 2009 Teach for America Mississippi Delta Corps Member. She earned a B.A. in Government and a B.A. in Chinese Language both from the University of Maryland, College Park.
